Fetch TCG

Seller Guard

Last updated March 2026

Seller Guard is a step-by-step guide for packing and documenting every order you ship. Following it gives you a clear evidence trail that Fetch's dispute team can review if a buyer raises an issue.

Summary

Inspect every card, pack it properly (penny sleeve → toploader → cardboard → bubble wrap), and take photos at each stage. Attach your tracking number. We recommend this for all orders but especially orders of $100 or more.

Photos are recommended for all listings but required for cards valued over $50. In disputes where no photos have been provided, it will be difficult for Fetch to administer due process. This requirement is exempt for verified Store accounts.

Packing checklist

Run through this for every order you ship. It keeps your buyers happy and gives you a paper trail if anything goes sideways.

Check the condition of each card

Pull every card from your inventory and compare it to the condition you listed. Look for scratches, whitening, dents, or print lines (see our conditions policy for the grading scale). If anything has changed, message the buyer before you ship.

Condition doesn't match? Sellers must not misrepresent condition. If you're unsure, grade conservatively. Getting this wrong can lead to refunds or account action.

Photo: all cards face-up before packing

Lay every card out face-up and take a single photo. Good lighting, card names legible. This is the photo that proves the cards were in the right condition before you packed them.

Penny sleeve each card

Every card goes into a penny sleeve. This is the bare minimum for any TCG sale and stops surface scratches in transit.

Toploader for anything over $5

After sleeving, put any card worth more than $5 into a rigid toploader. This stops bending and crush damage. For cards over $20, a magnetic case or Card Saver is even better.

Team bag (optional)

Group everything into a resealable team bag. It keeps the cards together and adds a moisture barrier. Not required, but it's cheap and buyers notice the effort.

Cardboard and bubble wrap

Put the cards between two pieces of rigid cardboard (a cereal box works fine). Tape it shut, then wrap the whole thing in bubble wrap before it goes in your mailer.

This is the gold standard. Penny sleeve, toploader, team bag, cardboard, bubble wrap. Covers surface damage, bending, moisture, and crush.

Photo: packed and sealed

Before you seal the mailer, take a photo of the packed order. This shows you actually followed the steps above.

Seal it, label it, photo the tracking

Put everything in a padded mailer or rigid envelope. Tape the flap to reinforce it. Stick on the shipping label, then take a photo showing the tracking number and destination. This ties your physical package to the tracking record.

Enter the tracking number in the app

Add the tracking number to the order in the Fetch app. This is the last step and lets the buyer and our team confirm delivery.

No tracking number? Without a tracking number, it is impossible for us to resolve “not received” claims in a dispute.

Keeping your records

Save all your photos and tracking confirmation somewhere you won't lose them (camera roll, Google Drive, a folder on your computer). Keep them for at least 60 days after the buyer confirms receipt, since that covers the dispute window.

What we'll ask for if a dispute is raised

  • Pre-packing photo (all cards face-up)
  • Packed and sealed photo
  • Photo of the label with tracking number
  • Tracking number and delivery confirmation

This takes about 60 seconds per order. If a dispute does come up, having these ready makes all the difference.
