Big changes on April 27

Card payments are live, the Fetch Wallet is rolling out, and new platform fees take effect. Here's the full breakdown — with worked examples, tier comparisons, and answers to the common questions.

At a glance

Three changes are rolling out together on 27 April 2026. Here's what each one means for you.

Now live

Card payments

Buyers can pay securely by card. A small processing surcharge is added at checkout — 2.7% + $0.30 in NZ, or 1.7% + $0.30 in AU.

Rolling out

The Fetch Wallet

All card payments flow through your Fetch Wallet. Withdraw to your bank anytime for a $2.00 fee.

From April 27

Platform fees

3–4% per sale depending on your tier. Legacy sellers get 90 days of Pro free.

Feature

Card payments

Buyers can now pay for listings securely by card, directly through Fetch. Previously this was only possible via bank transfer, which meant slower settlement and no way for us to help if something went wrong with an order.

The surcharge

When a buyer pays by card, a small surcharge is added at checkout. The rate depends on where the transaction is processed:

New Zealand

2.7% + $0.30

Australia

1.7% + $0.30

That goes to our payment provider to cover the cost of processing card transactions — Fetch does not add any margin on top. Our provider charges less for Australian transactions.

Worked example — a $50 NZ sale
Card price
$50.00
Card surcharge (NZ rate: 2.7% + $0.30)

Paid by the buyer — covers payment processing costs. AU rate would be $1.15

+ $1.65
Buyer pays at checkout
$51.65
Platform fee (Pro tier, 3.5%)

Deducted from seller's wallet balance

− $1.75
Seller receives into wallet
$48.25

The card surcharge is always shown clearly to buyers before they confirm payment, so there are no surprises. The surcharge only applies to card payments — it doesn't apply to bank transfers (where those are still supported).

Feature

The Fetch Wallet

The Fetch Wallet is where all card payments now land. It's designed to protect both buyers and sellers — because money moves through us, we can step in and resolve disputes if something goes wrong with an order. All funds are processed and securely held by Stripe, our payment provider.

How funds flow

  1. 1

    Buyer pays by card

Funds are held securely by Stripe while the sale is in progress.
  2. 2

You ship the card and mark it as sent

This triggers the clock on settlement.
  3. 3

    Funds land in your wallet

Usually within 3–5 business days of marking sent, though this may take longer if there's an open dispute.
  4. 4

    Withdraw to your bank, anytime

A $2.00 processing fee applies per withdrawal. We recommend letting your balance build up a bit first.

If something goes wrong

Because funds flow through us, we're able to help resolve disputes on a case-by-case basis when a buyer raises an issue. For bank transfer sales, our ability to assist is limited because money has already moved directly between parties.

A safer experience for buyers means better conversion and reputation for you as a seller, too.

Want the strongest protection on your end? Our Seller Guard guide walks you through packing and documenting every order so you've got a clear evidence trail if a buyer ever raises an issue.

Coming soon — spend your balance on Fetch

You'll soon be able to use your wallet balance to buy cards directly on Fetch, skipping card surcharges entirely. We'll announce this separately when it lands.

A note on bank transfers

Seller accounts created before 2 March 2026 can still receive payments by bank transfer. Newer accounts need to use card payments via the Fetch Wallet.

Please note: our ability to resolve disputes on bank transfer sales is limited because funds have already moved directly between parties. Where possible, we recommend accepting card payments — it's safer for everyone.

Pricing

Platform fees & seller tiers

From 27 April 2026, a small platform fee is deducted automatically from each sale at the point of sale. Your tier determines the fee rate and any subscription cost.

Fetch is built specifically for TCG — proper condition guides, TCG-specific search and filtering, and dispute support that understands the hobby. That's what these fees fund.

Casual
4%

Free

For hobby sellers who list the occasional card.

ProPopular
3.5%

$4.99 / month

Reduced fees for regular sellers. Free for 90 days.

Elite
3%

$19.99 / month

Lowest fees, best for stores doing real volume.

The fee is deducted from your wallet balance at the time the sale is made, not at withdrawal. You'll see a clear breakdown on every sale.

For legacy sellers

Your 90 days of Pro (free)

As a thank you for being here before any of this existed, we're giving every legacy seller 90 days on our Pro tier, free of charge. That's a reduced 3.5% platform fee on every sale for three months.

Who's eligible?

Any seller who signed up before 2 March 2026 qualifies. You don't need to apply — the option will be waiting for you when you go to upgrade.

How to claim it

  1. 1

    Go to Subscriptions → Upgrade

Head to the upgrade page on the website.
  2. 2

    Select Pro

Your 90-day trial is applied automatically — there's nothing to enter.
  3. 3

    Start selling at Pro rates

Your reduced platform fee kicks in from your very next sale.

What happens at day 91?

When your 90 days end, Pro continues at $4.99 / month unless you cancel or downgrade. You can change plans anytime from Subscriptions → Upgrade — there's no lock-in.

Promotion partner programme

If you're up for promoting your Fetch store on social media, we'll sort you out with a unique referral code. For every person you refer who makes their first sale, we'll extend your Pro subscription by a month — so the more active sellers you bring in, the longer your Pro runs beyond your free 90 days.

Anyone can get involved, regardless of current tier.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Do I pay the platform fee AND the card surcharge?

Those are two separate charges paid by two different parties.

  • Card surcharge (2.7% + $0.30 NZ / 1.7% + $0.30 AU) — paid by the buyer at checkout. Goes to our payment provider to cover processing costs.
  • Platform fee (3–4%) — deducted from the seller's payout. This is what funds Fetch.

See the worked example above for the full breakdown.

When do my 90 days of free Pro start?

From the moment you activate the trial in Subscriptions → Upgrade. If you haven't activated it yet, the clock hasn't started.

Who counts as a legacy seller?

If you signed up before 2 March 2026, you're a legacy seller and you qualify for the 90-day Pro trial. The option will be waiting on your upgrade page — nothing to apply for.

What happens when my 90 days end — and can I cancel early?

Pro auto-continues at $4.99 / month once the trial ends. You can cancel or downgrade anytime from Subscriptions → Upgrade — no lock-in, and you can come back later. If you cancel before day 90 you won't be charged.

Can I still accept bank transfer?

If your seller account was created before 2 March 2026, yes — bank transfer remains available on your account. Accounts created after that date need to use card payments via the Fetch Wallet.

Please note: our ability to help resolve disputes on bank transfer sales is limited because funds move directly between parties. Wherever possible we recommend accepting card payments — it's safer for both sides.

When exactly do funds land in my wallet?

Once you ship the card and mark the order as sent, funds usually land in your wallet within 3–5 business days. If a dispute is open on the order, funds may be held until it's resolved.

Is there a fee to withdraw from my wallet?

Yes — there's a $2.00 processing fee per withdrawal that our payment provider charges us. Because of that, we recommend letting your balance build up a bit before withdrawing rather than withdrawing after every sale.

What if I'm already on a paid plan?

Your free 90 days stack on top of whatever plan you're on — you won't be double-charged. If you're on Elite, your existing plan continues; if you downgrade to Pro during the trial, the free period still applies. Not sure about your specific situation? Email us.

Do the changes apply to Australian sellers?

The Fetch Wallet rollout is for New Zealand sellers first. We'll share more on the Australian rollout separately. Platform fees and seller tiers apply to all sellers from 27 April 2026.
